On a gaming stream the facecam and the action are usually in different corners, so a naive centre crop throws away both.

A 4K export is the most common waste of time here. All three serve at 1080p, so uploading 4K means the platform recompresses your file with its own settings instead of you controlling the quality at export.
Every platform lays its own interface over your video, and none of them warn you at upload. Captions placed near the bottom edge sit perfectly in your editor and end up behind TikTok's caption block or Instagram's progress bar in the feed.
The rule that survives all three: keep captions and anything else that has to be read inside the middle of the frame, clear of the top 15 percent and the bottom quarter. On Instagram there is a second trap, because Reels get cropped to 4:5 when they appear in the main feed, which trims the top and bottom of your 9:16 frame entirely. Anything important near an edge disappears there.
If you are posting one file everywhere, design for the strictest case rather than for the platform you happen to be looking at.
